From the 4th to the 5th july 2024 the food and agricultural organization of the United Nations organizes a workshop on the launching of a project on sharing experience on responsible land governance .The opening ceremony took place in an hotel in the town of Douala and witnessed the presence of the representative of the minister of state property , survey and land tenure of cameroun .
Reinforcing capacities of national and local actors on volontary directives for responsible governance of land regimes applied to land , fishing and forestry in the context of land security to ameliorate the procedure of land reforms is the main focus of the 2 day workshop organised by FAO. Experts in land , regional and international partners are those conveyed to this inclusive sub regional encounter in the town of Douala .

Improving land governance and reducing conflicts linked to cross-border transhumance constitute a major challenge for peace and security in Chad, the Central African Republic and Cameroon. This project of the FAO will focus on building the capacity of national and local actors to use the Voluntary Guidelines for Responsible Land Tenure Governance. This will help each country to have a national roadmap for the reform process which will include actions related to pastoralism and transhumance but also interactions with protected areas.
