Actions for Development and Empowerment met with different actors in Buea on the 28, 26 and 27th July, 2023.
ADE organized a meeting with health personnel (Expanded program on Immunization, EPI Focal points), community Town Hall meeting and a market activation in Buea, South West Region of Cameroon on the 28, 26 and 27th July, 2023 respectively; That meeting with health care personnels aimed at initiating conversations on vaccine equity and the performance of the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) in strengthening immunization coverage in the South west region and Cameroon in general.
This meeting is to be considered as an effort to commence CTAP phase III aimed at promoting conversations about vaccine equity, distribution, hesitancy and government commitment to the health sector.
Several actions have already been taken for that propose. A Community town hall meeting was carried out at the Macedonia BaptistChurch, Molyko to obtain citizens’ perception on health care service delivery and to sensitize the population on the importance of vaccination.
Also, a team made up of three ADE personnel, five community mobilizers, the head of the communication unit for EPI, South West Region, a publicity agent and ADE’s brand ambassador for #saveonesaveall; Auntie Felicia, stormed the Muea market on Thursday 27 July to sensitize the vendors and buyers on the importance of vaccination while presenting to them vaccines available in the region.
In recognition of the fact that we all have a role to play in achieving vaccine equity and developing our health system, Actions for Development and Empowerment, through her activities in the South West seeked to increased conversation on harmonized vaccine equity, distribution, hesitancy and government commitment to the health sector and Improve government commitment to the health sector.
Actions for Development and Empowerment (ADE), under the banner of CTAP phase 3: vaccine equity sponsored by Conrad Hilton Foundation in partnership with Connected Development and BudgIT Foundation is a social accountability led initiative.
